Molecules App Reviews

Good

After doing organic chem, it was nice to see how many different molecules I could find from just thinking of there formula. The only problem is that there is a lack of some more simple chemicals, I mean come on a single branch from a parent chain shouldnt be that hard to make a 3d model of compared to some of the crazy ones they have. Other than that it works well, and is nice to see.

Cool!

I did some chemistry at college and its hot to see how what something is physically mounted... But I wish to have a "legend" button to help me recognize atoms by colour I dont know. Thanks guys! 3D animations is awesome!

F & G

Not worth the time I spent playing it on the throne pinching a loaf...

Awesome

This is so awesome. Those who are not geeks or arent nerds or dont have a degree in chemistry, dont get this app. Otherwise, totally get this app.

Needs one major thing

Momentum flicking, like Im Elements. Other than that ****.

Cool!!

Really helpful if youre having trouble visualizing the general shape of a molecule, but its limited in that it doesnt differentiate between single, double and triple bonds in the models.

Okay but......

About as much as one would expect, given that this app is free. Okay for visualizing spacial arrangement of atoms within molecules but, as previous reviewer mentioned, no multiple bonds are shown. And dont rely on this app showing you the true stereochemical arrangement of molecules, e.g., maleic and fumaric acids are cis and trans isomers (or E/Z configurations) of but-2-enedioic acid but the molecule for each shows just the cis (Z) isomer. So,dont use this app as a reliable learning tool for stereochmistry.

Get any molecule

Clean, logical interface with on line access to pubchem and protein databases.

Incredible

While it lacks some detail (type of bond, etc) the overall app is really neat

Really cool

It is really interesting! I love it! The only thing that should be modified is the rotation code. I noticed that the focal point changes when you drag the molecule with 2 fingers, so when you rotate it again, the molecule flies off. Maybe keep the focal point at the center of the molecule, and just shift the point of view.

must have app for chem and biology student

simple yet intuitive app

Update needed

It needs a red cyan visual mode. You can put another setting that allows people with 3D glasses to visualize these molecules more effectively.

Great, but...

If youre getting for undergrad/grad level bio its great. But its only bio molecules, inorganic chemists wont find anything useful. Only proteins and such.

Alright

Fairly Good. I didnt get any crashes. Im fine with not being able to build molecules. However it would be better for us if we were to be able to scroll through all downloadable molecular structures without having to search at least one letter. Plus Im a newbie so it would be great if there was a colour key for iphone.

Needs simplicity

It is hard for me to find which molecule I am looking for, because I dont know the formal names. Perhaps some simplification is needed. I dont know. Otherwise, it works like a charm. Keep up the good development, and God bless.

Good!

This molecular viewer is enough to view relativelly simple molecules, something like proteins smaller than 100 AA. Hopefully, cartoon type presentation will be implemented. A functionality I really want to see is to upload pdb files prepared by myself.

very cool

I wish I had that app , when I was at school.very cool

Very good

Super

stay tuned

idea interessante da sviluppare assolutamente also nicely improved version with new rendering possibilities - we are waiting for helices and sheets and more interactive features!

Cartoon view

It would be nice to have a cartoon view, too.
